Sonja Betts

Sonja was born and raised in Amissville, Virginia, and has been connected to Early’s from the very beginning. Her parents founded Early’s Carpet in 1966, and seven years later she was born into the family business. Growing up around daily operations — and even appearing in early advertisements — she developed a deep understanding of the industry from a young age. The knowledge and experience she gained during those formative years laid the foundation for the leadership role she holds today.
Sonja has worked at Early’s for 36 years, beginning with running errands and assisting in the warehouse before moving into sales and eventually into executive leadership. Today, she helps lead the company alongside her husband, Solön. She maintains strong relationships with builders, oversees scheduling, and plays an active role in daily operations.
Her days often begin at 4:00 a.m., allowing her quiet time to respond to emails and prepare installers’ job packets before the team arrives. Once the day is underway, she provides guidance, answers questions, and ensures that operations run efficiently and smoothly.
Outside of work, Sonja enjoys spending time with her husband and family, line dancing, riding motorcycles, and driving her Slingshot. She also enjoys taking long weekends to Florida to visit her middle son.
Sonja values the strong team culture at Early’s and takes great pride in seeing the accomplishments and growth of the staff. Her lifelong dedication, leadership, and commitment to excellence continue to shape the success of the business and the service provided to the community.
Solon Betts

Originally from Upstate New York, Solon lived in several locations throughout Virginia before graduating high school in Madison and going on to serve in the United States Marine Corps. His diverse background and military experience have shaped a strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.
With over 28 years at Early’s, Solon is deeply grateful for the mentorship and knowledge he has gained from Mr. and Mrs. Early, which helped prepare him for the leadership roles he fulfills today. He finds great satisfaction in seeing the transformation of customers’ homes through installations ranging from flooring and window treatments to remodel work, restoration, and cleaning. He also values working with a wide variety of clients and home styles, each presenting its own unique challenges and solutions.
As Installation Manager, Solon is responsible for training and supporting installers, troubleshooting installation issues, managing installation-related customer concerns, and overseeing the resolution of any problems that may arise. He also measures and plans large or complex projects and assists with installations that present unique challenges. His hands-on expertise includes extensive work in tile and ceramic flooring, as well as the installation of all window treatments.
In addition to his installation responsibilities, Solon serves as Co-Vice President, where he assists with major business decisions, company policies, and day-to-day operations.
Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with his wife, line dancing, riding his Harley, and participating in competitive action pistol shooting. His leadership, technical expertise, and dedication to mentoring others make him a vital part of the Early’s team.
Dustin Betts

Dustin has deep roots at Early’s, having grown up in a home just behind the showroom while spending much of his time in the Culpeper area. His long-standing connection to the community and the company gives him a strong understanding of both the business and the customers it serves.
Outside of work, Dustin enjoys spending time with friends, hiking, traveling, and playing video games. He has been dancing since the age of five and has competed in West Coast Swing competitions. Today, he also instructs and choreographs line dancing, reflecting his creativity and attention to detail.
At Early’s, Dustin serves as an In-Home Estimator for flooring and window projects. He meets with clients in their homes to gather measurements and project information, discuss recommendations, and help determine the best solutions for their specific needs. He then compiles all project details and works closely with the sales team to ensure estimates are accurate and complete prior to ordering.
Dustin enjoys helping clients visualize their ideas and guiding them through the early stages of the design process. He takes pride in helping homeowners create spaces that reflect their individual style while ensuring each project is well-planned and tailored to the client’s needs.
His professionalism, thoroughness, and collaborative approach make Dustin a valuable member of the Early’s team.
Pam Sutphin

Pam is a lifelong resident of Culpeper County, where she graduated from Culpeper County High School in 2006. She began her career at Early’s in the summer of 2005 and has since dedicated more than 20 years to serving both the company and the community.
As a Sales Associate, Pam plays an integral role in guiding clients through their projects. She answers phones, assists customers in the showroom, prepares estimates, schedules jobs, and recently took on the additional responsibility of checking in all incoming warehouse orders. Her experience and attention to detail help ensure a seamless process from initial consultation to project completion.
Pam especially enjoys helping clients select the products that best suit their homes and finds great satisfaction in seeing each project come to life. Over the years, she has built strong, lasting relationships with many clients, often staying in touch long after their projects are complete.
Outside of work, Pam enjoys spending time with her family and taking trips to the beach. She is also a proud mother to a daughter and a son, who are the center of her world.

Ebba Settle

Ebba grew up in Brightwood, Virginia, proudly describing herself as a true Blue Ridge Mountain native. Her strong local roots and appreciation for the area help her connect with clients and understand the unique character of the homes she works with.
Outside of work, Ebba enjoys traveling and hiking, as well as creative hobbies such as painting, stained glass, and embroidery. She also loves cooking for friends and family, combining her creativity with time spent with the people she cares about most.
At Early’s, Ebba enjoys meeting new people and helping them translate their ideas into thoughtful, personalized designs. Her role focuses on educating clients about the best products for their specific projects, explaining the process clearly, preparing proposals, and guiding them from their first consultation through follow-up after completion. She takes pride in being both the first person clients meet and a trusted point of contact throughout their project.
A personal detail many clients enjoy learning is the story behind her nickname, “Ebba.” It originated when her two younger brothers were unable to pronounce “Elizabeth” as children, and the name has remained ever since.

Catherine Roush

A lifelong local, Catherine grew up in Amissville on the Culpeper side, bringing strong community roots and local knowledge to her role at Early’s.
Outside of work, she enjoys spending time outdoors and staying active through kayaking and camping, as well as attending live concerts whenever possible.
In her role at Early’s, she assists customers with flooring and window blind selections, helping guide them toward solutions that best fit their needs and homes. Catherine also supports the team by assisting Tori with Watercalls as they arise, ensuring timely follow-up and customer care.
A unique fun fact: Catherine is a second-generation flooring sales professional, following in her father’s footsteps, who sold flooring at various locations throughout Northern Virginia. This family background provides valuable industry insight and a strong appreciation for the trade.

Stephanie Jenkins

Stephanie grew up in Culpeper, Virginia, and takes pride in serving the same community she has long called home. Her local roots and familiarity with the area help her build lasting relationships with clients and provide thoughtful guidance throughout their projects.
Outside of work, Stephanie enjoys relaxing at the beach, attending concerts, shopping, and spending time with family and friends.
As a member of the Early’s sales team, Stephanie assists customers with product selection, answers phones, prepares estimates, and helps schedule jobs to keep projects moving efficiently. She especially enjoys working closely with clients to help bring their ideas to life and create beautiful, functional spaces in their homes.
Flooring is truly a family tradition for Stephanie—her mother also worked at Early’s, giving her an early appreciation for the business and the service it provides to the community. She is also a proud mother of two sons and grandmother to two granddaughters, and she cherishes the time she spends with them. Stephanie’s dedication to customer service, strong local ties, and enthusiasm for helping clients make her a valued member of the Early’s team.
Susan Clark

Originally from Chesapeake, Virginia, Susan relocated to the area in 1998 and has since become an integral part of the Early’s team.
Outside of work, Susan enjoys spending time with friends and family, reading, and relaxing by watching favorite television series.
In her role as Pricing Agent, she is responsible for keeping all product pricing accurate and up to date. In addition, Susan manages the maintenance of company vehicles and oversee tool inventory, helping ensure daily operations run efficiently and without interruption.
What she values most about working at Early’s is the variety each day brings. The diverse responsibilities make the role engaging, and the supportive environment fosters a strong sense of appreciation.
A notable fun fact: in 1994, Susan competed at the national level in roller skating, earning 10th place in both Dance and Figures—a testament to her discipline and dedication.
Susan’s attention to detail and behind-the-scenes contributions play a vital role in the continued success of the Early’s team.
Vanessa Winebrenner

Vanessa was born in Georgia and raised in Alexandria, Virginia. She brings a diverse skill set and a positive, adaptable approach to her role at Early’s.
As part of the administrative team, Vanessa serves as the owner’s administrator and is also responsible for social media, marketing initiatives, coordinating job interviews, and supporting various day-to-day operations. She enjoys her role because no two days are ever the same, and she values the opportunity to contribute across multiple areas of the business.
Outside of work, Vanessa enjoys line dancing, singing, riding motorcycles, traveling, and spending time with her family and dogs. In addition, she is an active musician, performing locally as part of a band and an acoustic duo, and she enjoys supporting the local music community. Vanessa’s versatility and dedication make her a valued member of the Early’s team.
Marsha Sprouse

Marsha grew up in Greensboro, North Carolina, and brings strong attention to detail and a thoughtful approach to her work at Early’s. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her grown children and grandbabies, cherishing family moments and the opportunity to stay connected with loved ones.
At Early’s, Marsha serves as an Accounting Assistant, supporting both Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable. She takes pride in maintaining accuracy and organization in the company’s financial processes and especially enjoys working in Excel and resolving discrepancies where her analytical skills shine. One of Marsha’s favorite parts of working at Early’s is the welcoming team environment. She appreciates starting her mornings by greeting coworkers and values the kindness and collaboration that define the company culture.

Megan King

Megan grew up in the small town of Catlett, back when it consisted of just a gas station and a bank. Raised on 20 acres, she and her mother cared for horses, cats, and dogs after her grandparents relocated to Texas. Those early experiences instilled a strong work ethic, sense of responsibility, and appreciation for hard work that she brings to Early’s every day.
Outside of work, Megan enjoys learning more about home canning, baking, and crafting, as well as visiting thrift stores and spending time with close friends and family.
At Early’s, Megan is known for her organization and willingness to help wherever needed. She is responsible for organizing the warehouse, maintaining accurate inventory counts, and ensuring all incoming orders are properly sorted, labeled, and prepared for installers. She also stages showroom product samples and makes sure take-home samples are readily available for customers.
Her attention to detail, organizational skills, and team-focused approach make Megan an essential part of the Early’s team, helping ensure smooth operations throughout both the warehouse and showroom.
